Yes. We use a small amount of MSG for taste — and we'd rather explain it than hide it. MSG is glutamate: the same savoury compound that occurs naturally in tomatoes, parmesan, mushrooms and seaweed. Your body processes the glutamate we add exactly the same way it processes the glutamate in those foods.
The idea that MSG is harmful comes from a single unverified letter published in 1968. Decades of research since haven't supported it. We chose to use a little, clearly labelled, instead of burying it under vague "seasoning" or "flavouring" labels.
