Got Questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do Toro Chips stay fresh?
Toro Chips have a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture. Each pack is printed with a best-before date on the back. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, seal the pack tightly and enjoy within a few days for best crunch.
Are Toro Chips suitable for children?
Yes — Toro Chips were designed with children in mind. Each 80g pack delivers 544mg of DHA Omega-3, which supports brain development and focus. They contain no artificial preservatives, no artificial colours or flavours, no pork, and no lard. We do use a small, clearly labelled amount of MSG for taste — see the MSG question below. Note that Toro Chips contain fish (tuna).
What allergens do Toro Chips contain?
Toro Chips contain fish (tuna). The chip base is tapioca and sago — there is no wheat in the recipe — but they are made in a facility that also handles wheat, buckwheat, egg, dairy, peanuts, shrimp, and crab, so cross-contact is possible. There is no pork and no lard. Always check the packaging for the full allergen declaration, especially if you have a fish or gluten allergy.
Do Toro Chips contain MSG?
Yes — a small amount, clearly labelled. MSG is glutamate, the same savoury compound found naturally in tomatoes, parmesan, mushrooms, and seaweed, and your body processes it the same way. The idea that MSG is harmful traces back to a single unverified letter from 1968; decades of research since haven't supported it. We'd rather list it plainly than bury it under a vague "flavouring" label.
Are Toro Chips suitable for Muslim consumers?
Toro Chips are Muslim-friendly. They contain no pork and no lard anywhere in the supply chain. We are not yet halal-certified but are working toward formal certification. The full ingredient list is: wild-caught tuna (70%), tapioca, sago, sugar, MSG, salt, and oil — no pork-derived additives. We recommend Muslim consumers review the ingredient list on the packaging.
How do Toro Chips compare to regular potato chips?
Regular potato chips are primarily starch and oil with little nutritional value. Toro Chips are 70% real wild-caught tuna, delivering 17.4g of protein and 544mg of DHA Omega-3 per 80g serving — with no artificial preservatives. You get genuine snack satisfaction plus real nutrition, not just empty calories.
What is DHA Omega-3 and why does it matter?
DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is a long-chain Omega-3 fatty acid that plays a critical role in brain function, eye health, and nervous system development. It's particularly important for growing children. Most Singaporean diets fall short of the recommended intake — Toro Chips make it easy to hit your DHA targets through a snack you already enjoy.
Where is the tuna sourced from?
We use wild-caught tuna from sustainable, traceable fisheries. Our tuna is not farmed — it's caught in open waters and processed promptly to lock in freshness and nutritional integrity. We prioritise species and catch methods that minimise environmental impact.
